We had such a busy 2023- with workshops every school holiday and the addition of Wednesday classes, I have absolutely loved working with the older ones during Wednesday Drama classes, to create our own version of 'A childrens Christmas Carol' whilst the younger Performing Arts class devised their own performance, called 'An alphabet Christmas'. 

Saturday classes worked towards a performance of 'A Snowflake Christmas' which they loved performing on th stage at Brailes.

What's planned for 2024? Well, I am hoping to get all classes together for a big performance. I think it would be great for the younger children to work together with the older children and for them to do something bigger than we have before!

We will also have our holiday workshops- any theme ideas very welcome!

Wow! We had  2 fantastic workshops this Summer, the first being joint with Ellie from Atomic Dance. It was a Circus themed workshop and we went all out with the theme! We performed songs and dances from 'The Greatest Showman' and we held some circus skills workshops too, the children loved learned new skills and having a go at activites like Hula Hooping and the Diablo! 

Our second workshop of the Summer was a Disney themed, 3 day workshop, we absolutely loved learning songs and dances to some of our favourite Disney movies! The children worked so hard towards and end of workshop performance. 

Next up is our Halloween fun day on the 27th October. 

We had a fantastic day in May half term for our ‘play in a day’ workshop.

We had a lovely group of children who all worked very well together to devise and perform a play in small groups.

Creativity flowed and we had lots of wonderful ideas, it was great to see children using their imaginations so beautifully and working together to come up with a storyline.

This workshop was more drama focused, encouraging children to be inventive and productive.

I was super impressed with the short plays they came up with and it was wonderful to see them performing at the end of the day!

Over the Easter holidays Carousel and Ellie @ Atomic Dance ran a 2 day ‘Matilda the musical’ workshop. It was so much fun, the children all worked so hard towards our end of workshop performance! Our workshops always involve lots of drama games which enable confidence and communication skills, dancing and singing….it’s not your average holiday club! 

Children are encouraged to share ideas and when we work towards a performance, it really is a joint effort between children and teachers. 

I am busy planning our May half term workshop, ‘A play in a day’, then onto Summer!
